The Photographic
Archive

The Archive was first set up in 1989 with the sole intention of collecting as many
Stirling Bomber related photographs as possible. The collection has grown over the
years and despite one very serious setback it has continued to be a source of
material for everyone who wishes to gain access. Authors of forthcoming books
relating to the Stirling are also welcome to contact me for relevant photographs and
provided I have them I will supply prints suitable for publishing.
Not only are there photographs of the aircraft but also a large number depicting the
crews and groundcrews who flew and maintained the Stirling. These are an important
part of the archive and those who died on operations are not forgotten as they have
pages specially set up in their memory. Many of the pictures of the groundcrew show
them working in their various trades and one gets a good insight of the many
difficulties encountered servicing such a large aircraft.
Each photograph is mounted in one of many large albums and carries a caption
containing a fully researched description of the subject.

If you have any photographs of the Stirling or of your crew or groundcrew that you
would like to include in the archive then I would be only too pleased to hear from you.
