Research Library

The Research Library was set up as an addition to the Photographic Archive after it
was apparent that there were many details available relating to a particular aircraft or incident. This was then expanded further as many people started to request information concerning family members who had been shot down during the war. It appeared that some families had never had the full details of what happened and so records both official and unofficial are now regularly consulted to build up an accurate and detailed account of someone's war time career. This work can take several weeks to complete but in most cases a comprehensive history is usually available for a family member who feels they need to know more about a loved one lost on operations. All the research carried out is always taken on regardless of the complexities and is always free of charge.
Over the years many local people in the British Isles and abroad in France, Holland,
Belgium, Norway and Denmark have made a decision to erect a suitable Memorial in memory of a crew or individual who has died due to his aircraft crashing in their locality. I have been able to assist many of these projects by doing a comprehensive search of the records to enable an accurate report to be compiled. This information is then used to produce a plaque or tablet of rememberance.
If you would like any assistance to compile a record of an airman's career during his
service in the war I will be only too pleased to help. Just click the e mail link.
